In summary, this lesson has equipped pharmacists with a practical, evidence-based approach to integrating into ACLS and optimizing pharmacotherapy for cardiac arrest patients. We discussed cardiac arrest classification, ACLS protocols tailored to each rhythm, and pharmacological considerations to restore perfusion and organized electrical activity. Special topics like pediatrics, pregnancy, toxicology, and ethics were addressed. By understanding ACLS principles and the role of pharmacists therein, clinicians can help improve delivery of prompt, appropriate, and safe pharmacotherapy during cardiac arrest resuscitation.
